Gage Roads Break Water - Last brew standing

Well it's been a fun adventure from 8 beers down to one, high flyers to beers that literally left a bad taste in your mouth. From the highest of highs to the average of the lows, how would this last one fare? As a last ditch take down of the Pirate King or best swept under the rug of the ones with the terrible finish?

Bottoms up, it's verdict time!

For the last time in this courageous clash of the craft clans challenge, what am I smelling here?: Er...nothing. Just beer. At least it doesn't smell bad.

Okay then, lets hope your initial thoughts segment is a little more in depth - what are your initial thoughts?: Okay then - it glows in the sun. Not a bad head. It bubbles away happily. There's just a wafer thin hint of corn here. It's got a mild finish on it with just the slightest bees bit of metallic tinge to it. It's very drinkable but not a whole lot of exciting.

Overall: Another of those 'hey I've just done a shed load of hard work in the hot sun and I need to reward myself with a cold beer before I go crazy and tell my boss I need a raise or something' type of beers. It's refreshing and crisp but if you wanted to add aromatic and flavorful to that list, you best look elsewhere. Thankfully it didn't make three beers in a row with a terrible ending.

3 out of 5 fun days in the sun.

So where does it sit on the final lineup of the:

COURAGEOUS CLASH OF THE CRAFT CLANS SCORECARD?

Somewhere in the middle. While it's not a knockout like the Pirate, tasty like the Fin or even a rough diamond like the Monteiths, it's easier drinking than the Goat and a touch more memorable than the Burleigh 28. So our final list now looks like....(drumroll please...)

1. PIRATE LIFE
2. SINGLE FIN
3. MONTEITHS AMERICAN PALE ALE
4. THIS ONE (GAGE ROADS BREAK WATER)
5. BURLEIGH 28
6. MOUNTAIN GOAT STEAM ALE
7. JOHN BOSTON THE POINT PALE ALE
8. ENDEAVOURS GROWERS PALE ALE
